OU SPE  will participate in OU's Relay for Life on April 23-24.  Relay for Life is an overnight walk-a-thon which supports the American Cancer Society, a non-profit organization committed to fighting cancer in the U.S.  Funds raised through Relay for Life go to the ACS for cancer research, education, advocacy, and services for cancer patients and their families.  It is a great opportunity for us to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
 
For the past several years, OU SPE has been the top fundraiser at this event.  We raised $8,500 last year and hope to raise $10,000 this year.  At Relay for Life, we also compete in intramurals and build an oil derrick that reaches over 20 feet high.  This has won us the best decorated campsite for two years running!  Relay for Life has become a great tradition for our chapter and we would love to continue this by reaching our fundraising goal.
